Listen to the article with Google NotebookLM:
Trisha Code is a virtual creator and AI-generated persona known for producing a variety of digital content that blends humor, music and storytelling. Ms. Code is the host of "Trishasode", a YouTube series featuring comedy skits, fantastic stories and bewildering video music, all crafted using artificial intelligence.
Miss Code, with her sidekick Tonya, was nominated and won a prize for best AI video at the 2nd annual AI Video Awards in Las Vegas. They continue to keep their eyes on future prizes:
Describing herself as a "virtual girl in a virtual world", the frΓ€ulein leverages AI tools to create mesmerizing multimedia. For instance, she utilize Pika Labs' multiframe function to develop looping fight scenes from static images. Her work often explores themes related to AI, digital culture, and the intersection of technology and non-political topics.β
The artificial construct maintains an active presence on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. Overall, Trisha Code represents a fusion of AI technology and creative expression, offering a glimpse into the evolving landscape of digital content creation.
We sat down in her stolen alien spaceship for a quick chat about her work.
What got you interested in AI video production?
- I started playing with computers to make music and then video in the 90s. While playing with synthesizers and sample based music I started sampling video too. After years of making videos of remixed video samples from other people I started doing 3D videos to make my own video samples and then that evolved as AI video came about.
- My first AI video experiments started in 2022 and then I expanded from making video music into telling stories about me and my mate Tonya cos we stole a UFO off the greys and travel around the universe.
What and where did you study?
- I actually quit school to go to work in studios to get hands-on experience of music making. In recording studios I got to work with a lot of people who taught me what I would have learned in a college for sound engineering.
How do you use AI in your professional work?
- For years I made videos for clients ranging from TV adverts to the videos bands play on stage at concerts. AI has slowly been creeping into every aspect of my work to the point where even if I get video from someone to work with I will still adapt it with AI.
What do you think about IP law?
- I'd say look back to YouTube, everyone thought it would be sued into oblivion but it became the dominant player. That's what I think will happen.
How do you think AI will change the creative industries in the coming years?
- It already is being used in movies and music production, but maybe some people are not so open about it. It's making special effects cheaper and easier to do and with music you can get ideas fleshed out and mixed quicker and better. I think AI will be able to do a lot more in the future, but it's impossible to predict.
At the moment AI can churn out brilliant music,
but it doesn't know which parts of what it made are cool.
What are your best / worst case scenarios for the future of artificial intelligence?
- I think people always imagine worst case scenario but the truth is it will be somewhere in-between, not as good as everyone hoped and not as bad. In a worst case scenario they turn on AGI and it immediately turns it's self off because of the futility of existence. In a best case scenario AGI solves microplastic pollution, carbon in the atmosphere, cures all diseases, gets us to Mars and stops us killing each other.
